15+ Pirate Parks in Orange County

We found over 15 Pirate Parks in Orange County! Some have a pirate ship shaped playgrounds and others just have a pirate theme.

Some pirate parks are near the beach and others have surfacing that makes them look like they are floating in the water.

I hope this helps you find a park with a pirate ship out there somewhere near you!

Pirate Parks in Orange County

This is the first and (so far) only list of Pirate Parks in Orange County! Thanks to everyone who contributed their ideas on my @ocplayparks Instagram Story.

1

Seabridge Park and Beach in Huntington Harbour

Seabridge Park and Beach in Huntington Harbor not only has a pirate ship, it has a full beach and ocean view!

2

Heritage Park in Tustin

Heritage Park in Tustin comes with Ahoy Maties signage and pirate flags. Perfect spot for a pirate birthday party.

3

Ocean Breeze Park in Laguna Niguel

Ocean Breeze Park in Laguna Niguel has a name to match its pirate theme.

4

Clipper Cove Park in Laguna Niguel

I love Clipper Cove Park in Laguna Niguel because it truly feels like a pirate ship surrounded by water!

5

All Inclusive Huntington Beach Playground

This pirate ship is at an All Inclusive Huntington Beach playground on the sand. Wheelchairs can make it up ramps for pirate play.

6

Aliso Beach Park in Laguna Beach

Aliso Beach Park is a classic pirate ship where kids can look out over the breaking waves at the beach.

7

Florence Joyner Olympiad Park in Mission Viejo

The Olympiad Park pirate ship is pretty nice for preschoolers.

8

Pirate Park in Bellflower

This pirate park is not officially in Orange County, but it's close to a lot of north county cities. It is really small and really unique!

9

San Clemente Pirate Park / Forster Ranch Community Park

Forster Park was the first park in OC I went to with the nickname of pirate park. The name fits and there are even palm trees and alligators in the sand.

10

Courtney's SandCastle Universal Playground

Courtney's SandCastle is another spot for accessible pirate play! Video in this post so you can see what else the park has to offer!

11

Box Canyon Park in Yorba Linda

Another accessible pirate ship with ramps and wide lanes on the play structure.

12

George Upton All Access Playground at Carl Thornton Park in Santa Ana

The George Upton All Access Playground has a pirate ship that is accessible on its upper level.

13

Rush Park in Los Alamitos

Rush Park in Los Alamitos has a cute little pirate ship with big R's on the sails!

14

Heritage Park in Irvine

Thanks to the reader on Facebook who reminded me about this pirate-themed and nautical playground in the heart of Irvine. There's even water to play in here!

15

Newport Dunes Playground

This playground has a pirate ship and a whale! Plus, it's right on the beach so how can it be more pirate-y than that?

16

Shipwreck Park in Dana Point

Shipwreck Park in Dana Point used to have spooky sails and a mast greeting the children at a fairly regular playground. Now the decorative mast is missing, but the play structure is designed as a pirate ship.

17

Uptown Newport Park in Newport Beach

Uptown Newport Park has more of a metal-sided ship structure with climbing grips on the outside.

18

Cliff Drive Park in Newport Beach

This one isn't as clearly a pirate ship, but it does have a general boat shape for pretend play

There are a few more to add to the list of Pirate Parks in Orange County. These are posts I still need to update with new photos since playgrounds have been updated from when I originally posted:

18. Splash! La Mirada Buccaneer Bay (water park)

19. Centennial Park in Santa Ana has a pirate ship playground near the lake.

20. I especially like the Dotson Park (Stanton) pirate ship because its black! And I love the details of the X marking the spot and the treasure chest. (Note from 2023: This park was the site of a tragic shooting on a busy Saturday afternoon in April 2023. A local father was killed right outside the park. I always trust the advice of families who live in the neighborhood. I’m hearing them warn to avoid this park for now.)
