  • Google Analytics (Web Analytics Service Provider) – this service tracks Website usage and provides information such as referring websites and user actions on the Website. We have set Google Analytics to anonymize your IP address, so no personal information should be captured by Google Analytics. We create traffic reports to analyze how users move through the website and which content is most popular. Then we use the information to plan editorial content or measure success of past content.
  • Substack (Current Email Service Provider and Newsletter Subscription Service) – this service is the current email newsletter provider used for delivery of email updates and free/paid newsletter subscriptions. We store your email address and name (if submitted) for purposes of delivering such communications and making editorial decisions about the content you prefer to see. This service tracks user actions, such as opens and clicks on links.
  • MailChimp (Prior Email Service Provider) – this service was used for delivery of email updates and newsletters. We stored your email address for purposes of delivering such communications and making editorial decisions about the content you prefer to see. They serve as the bridge between advertisers and website publishers (like me). Mediavine must capture some data to serve targeted ads from advertisers to visitors to the Website. As a publisher, we do not receive any information about the advertisers or which ads are served to which visitors. We only learn aggregate traffic numbers used to calculate our monthly advertising income.

ZeeMaps tracks the number of visitors to the map and provides us with a total number of historic visitors only. You can choose to be anonymous when you take the survey or you can choose to enter your email address. This information is stored in our Survey Monkey account so we can access the history of reports that tell us about our performance and your suggestions over time.

The Website collects the following data using a cookie when serving personalized ads:

  • IP Address
  • Operating System type
  • Operating System version
  • Device Type
  • Language of the website
  • Web browser type
  • Email (in hashed form)

Mediavine Partners (companies listed below with whom Mediavine shares data) may also use this data to link to other end user information the partner has independently collected to deliver targeted advertisements. Mediavine Partners may also separately collect data about end users from other sources, such as advertising IDs or pixels, and link that data to data collected from Mediavine publishers in order to provide interest-based advertising across your online experience, including devices, browsers and apps. This data includes usage data, cookie information, device information, information about interactions between users and advertisements and websites, geolocation data, traffic data, and information about a visitor’s referral source to a particular website. Sponsored Content Tracking Pixels
This Website may engage in sponsored campaigns with various influencer networks, brands, and agencies. All sponsored content is duly disclosed in accordance with the FTC’s requirements.
