Heritage Park Play Island in Cerritos (near north Orange County) appeals to all ages with playgrounds inside colonial buildings on an island.

Cordova Park in Mission Viejo is fun for older kids who like to climb + spin. Parents will like the playground because it’s easy to see kids.

El Dorado Park in Mission Viejo features an amazing tall tunnel slide and “Swing with Me” swings. It sits on a large grassy hill.

Moro Beach at Crystal Cove State Park is also called El Moro – located at the north end of Laguna Beach and south of Newport Beach.

Crystal Cove State Park offers space for tidepooling, beach trips, nature rambles, and whale watching from the shore in Newport Beach.

Northwood Community Park in Irvine is also known as Castle Park. I think of it as a fortress fit for knights and princesses.

Salt Creek Trail in Dana Point provides a long nature walk to the beach for active families. Maps to trails starting in Laguna Niguel, too.

The San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary in Irvine is home to Sea & Sage Audubon House. Walk wide dirt trails & see the wildlife in the ponds.

Reef View Node Park in Laguna Niguel is a small neighborhood playground with a gigantic bear climber, teeter-totter, and swings.

Christopher Park in Mission Viejo boasts a treehouse theme with logs everywhere, swings, climbers, and the shade from an enormous palm tree.
