Pittsford Park in Lake Forest (Universally Accessible)

Pittsford Park in Lake Forest added a universally accessible playspace – completed in October 2008. It’s brilliant red with even the upper levels accessible to wheelchairs. A cars/roadway theme provides little people with stop and yield signs and a trike course.

Highlights:

• Most popular: cube stack and sand play area which has diggers and a pretend sink (bring sand toys)
• Kids also like the pretend play theater

• 4-child teeter-totter with seat backs

• Tons of swings for all types and ages of users (6 bench swings, 2 baby swings)

• Trike track with street signs

• Lots of play space for all ages and abilities

• Popular for birthday parties because of a nice shaded gazebo with barbecue, plus grassy area for picnics

Be Aware:

• Crowded at times and the usual fall dangers with the very high structures (for the really little ones)
• Watch the Lake Forest city calendar for events at Pittsford Park – like the annual Snowfest which provides a snowy sledding hill
