Thank you for the gift of your readership — and for the time you take out of your busy days to take your children exploring outdoors. I love hearing about your adventures and wish you many more memories for 2011!
My sister surprised me with this special sidebar in her annual holiday newsletter entitled “From Nature With Love”:
“With a monthly Nature Play Club (NPC created by my very own sister – so proud!), we have told the boys we already gave them their gifts this year – the gift of “a love of Nature” – where we’ve gotten to catch lizards, find animal footprints, explore forested trails, pick wild berries, ride bikes on dirt paths, splash our faces in waterfalls and make sandcastles. Their reply: “Am I still getting my Marshmallow gun?”
Yep, that’s our family humor!
But I know my nephews and children truly enjoyed our times together this year. I remember all those moments and it makes me happier than any material thing in this world. Having my sister put our experiences into words is better than any gift that comes a box wrapped up with a bow.
We’ll be making more family memories over this next week, so I might be slow to put up a post before the New Year. I hope you use the website to find places to explore and play ideas to keep you having fun with your family. Even when it’s cold out! Even when you don’t feel like it! Because when you get the kids outside you’ll create something amazing together.

You must have a lot of travel stories in store with your whole family. The outdoor is really an amazing place to share with family and it is just so wonderful to discover beautiful places together. Good thing you are all on the go surprisingly your kids have a lot of energy.

Your family really love the outdoors just like ours :) While the children are young, making them love nature and getting to spend time with them is truly precious.

Thanks for being so passionate about something so FUN for your "job"....and one that INCLUDES the kids, which doesn't always happen in today's world. Many of our most special moments of 2010 have been watching the kids explore nature, seeing things and understanding for the first time...without a whole lot of "No's"to get in the way! Here's to making more new memories in 2011

We simply need that wild country available to us, even if we never do more than drive to its edge and look in. For it can be a means of reassuring ourselves of our sanity as creatures, a part of the geography of hope. - Stegner Here's to another year of hope!
