My friends Birdie and Tony own Rice Temptation on Del Mar in San Clemente. They serve Japanese and Thai food. We go there for lunch on weekends after wandering around the beach and the shops. They didn’t ask me to write about them. They didn’t pay me to write about them. But their family is a friend of my family and they work really hard to provide good food and a nice family dining experience. So let me introduce you to their yummy food. We spent a relaxing Saturday morning wandering downtown and then stopped in for lunch – they open at noon on Saturday and Sunday (11am on weekdays).
We nibbled on edamame to start.
We ordered a lunch special and it comes with Miso Soup.
The kids combo is $6.95 and comes in a Bento Box. Tons of food!
My son is 11 and ordered off the grown-up menu, because he’s over 10 and has a grown-up appetite! He picked the two items special with vegetable tempura and Japanese curry for $9.95.
Are you full yet? I also picked the 2 items special – California rolls and teriyaki salmon. Yum!
My husband tried something Tony recommended. The Chasu Pork Curry Ramen (noodle soup) for $9.50. WOW! The flavor was amazing. Just the right consistency and amount of curry. Tony served it with some extra spice on the side — much to my husband’s liking! This is another photo of the same soup in the top of the post.
Nicest people. Good food. Lots of sushi choices. Go! And tell them that I sent you.
