Simple Play for Kids: Towels

Dara and I talk about play. Like, a lot.

Simple play is something we think is highly underrated. Sometimes, all kids need is a prop to get excited about free play. Dara suggested we start running posts on just that idea. So, on Wednesdays we're going to start spotlighting one item you might have around the house or can easily find outside. We'll give you a few ideas to get the proverbial ball rolling, but really you should just leave it up to the kids. Let them lead. I always find their ideas are better than mine anyways. That's why my 8 year old helped with today's post. He's a big fan of towels.

5 Ideas

  1. Make houses and forts by taking outdoor furniture and draping with towels
  2. Create beds, blankets, and pillows for pretend camping
  3. Dress-up costumes and capes
  4. Come up with games, like Hide-and-Seek
  5. Pretend picnics

BONUS: Put out a stack of towels. You tell US what your kids do with it!
