Discovery Beach Game

Discovery Beach is the name for this game that's part puzzle, part matching, and part ocean education. The game is self-contained in a box with clear plastic cover, hidden from view with 5 large puzzle pieces. The box hold tiny blue pellets the size of chocolate sprinkles spread over a mock ocean floor. Assorted ocean animals hide among the pellets.

It's perfect for 3 and 4 year olds who aren't quite ready for board games with lots of rules. I love spinners. Every game should have a spinner! This game has a spinner. Getting out wiggles is another awesome feature. When your spin lands on "wave," you get to shake the box. Woo-hoo! Controlled destruction.

Even though I love to play, I'm not a fan of board games. Must be the memory of that one marathon Monopoly game that wouldn't end. However, the kids' grandmother found this one and I had fun playing. I'd even recommend it as a great travel game.

Natural Exploration:
If you're lucky and live near the beach, you can make a real-life game out of this by standing near the surf to discover the treasures the waves uncover.
