2018 marks my 10th year blogging about parks for you. A decade! Can you believe it? Let’s celebrate with a year-long CHALLENGE unlike anything we’ve ever done before.
2018 #3ParksPerWeek Challenge
Maybe you already have fitness goals? Or made resolutions for your mental health? Maybe you just want to be happier and experience less stress in 2018? Or did you put academic goals at the top of this year’s list? Want to spend more time focused on your kids? Or more time focused on yourself? Guess what? This challenge will address ALL of those goals.
The rules are loose. I’m calling it the #3parksperweek Challenge. If you started the first week of the year and go to 3 parks each week for 52 weeks — you’ll have visited 156 parks in 2018. It can be your local park, a community park, a state park, a national park — or a hiking trail, or a beach, or a bike path. Get the idea? Just get outdoors to play. If you go to the same park 3x per week — that counts, too.
I’ll be supporting you with my weekly Thursday newsletter (subscribe here) where I’ll suggest 3 DIFFERENT parks each week (whether you choose to try those ones or not). I’ll get creative with theme weeks. I’ll ask about your 3 parks per week on FB and you can tell me all about it in the comments. We can inspire each other.
Or you can follow along in Orange County on my @ocplayparks Instagram account or even follow the #3ParksPerWeek Instagram hashtag (yes, you can follow hashtags now!) to share your mini-adventures.
Let’s have fun and GO PLAY in 2018!
Bonus Challenge #1TRIPAMONTH
- Get outdoors at least 3 times per week.
- Take 1 trip per month.
These are the 2 simple things that keep me out in nature. Keep me discovering new places. Keep me looking forward to vacation time and vacation planning (which is sometimes even more fun than the vacation since I love this part!). We don’t always have time or money for a big trip. Day trips count, too.
So, in the coming weeks, look for the #1tripamonth bonus challenge.
